HAVERHILL TOOL & FASTENER

Eric started the company in 1986. He started with job-site delivery to the
residential construction industry and worked the business from out of his house and a
van. Providing affordably priced, quality fasteners and quick job-site service. The
business, in a year, grew out of both the house and the van. Eric purchased a one
thousand square foot building at the corner of White and Cedar streets in Haverhill,
Massachusetts and opened a retail outlet there. The store opened at 6 a.m. and closed
at 6 p.m. so contractors could get their nails and staples before and after work. Joyce
came on board at that time and ran the store from 8 a.m. so that Eric could still provide
the job-site service which had built the business. With the slowdown of the construction
industry in the northeast, the need arose to expand the business further. He began to
explore the many other uses of staples and nails. This led the
company into selling to a wide variety of a staple and nail users. Today, we may have the
most diverse nail and staple inventory in the Northeast. In December of 1996 the business moved from its location and opened it's retail doors in a two thousand squarefoot facility with and additional five thousand square feet of warehousing under the name of NAIL1. This new location affords us the ability to provide all of our services under one roof and has allowed us to expand into related product lines. |
